Permanent Speed Camera's
Thought this might be useful for the next trip down to the highway.
The following speed camera's were installed on the 6th of Febuary along the Geelong road.
1 on the top
of the Westgate Bridge
1 at the first Werribee exit
1 at the Little River exit
2 at Point Cook
1 at Point Wilson
1 at Corio
1 just before you arrive at the
Waterslide/Waterworld in Geelong
Port
arlington road / high way , just along from the school there, often don't see
them for a while then see them for 3 or 4 days in a row in the mornings then in
the afternoon you seem on boundary road just down from the cemetery.
Fixed Speed

All these camera's are positioned in both bound and outbound lanes and are tricky too see. If you did 10kms over the speed limit all the way from Melbourne to Geelong you can expect up to $125.00 fine on each one and the loss of 1 demerit point per camera for example. Each camera is able to book cars doing even 5kms over the speed limit.
Semi-Permanent Speed Camera's - Updated 28/12/02
2 Kilometers past the car auctions place,
there is a bunch of gum trees, in front of them is a speed camera.
-Thanks to Sean (Red-GTi) for that one [more info needed?]
Just
about every day of the week in the mornings between 8am and 11am there is a
speed camera on Church street between Minerva road and Shannon ave, capable of
booking cars even 5kms over the speed limit. At least
$125.00 fine and 1 demerit point.
Just recently
there has been a dark green falcon sitting down at the boulevard bit down near
the beach, where everyone cruises around. He has been in a car park facing
the beach up the end. Its one of those speed detectors that are mounted on
the car and he has the speed detector active for cars going past, They must
think even with the speed bumps people still go fast. They are probably
watching for people doing burnouts too.
